Teens having fun while bowling

After such a stressful year, it’s more important than ever for kids to have time for fun and socializing, not to mention the chance to get off the couch and out of the house. If you’re looking for fun things for kids to do in Richmond, Indiana, we’ve got the answer: Youth bowling! Keep reading to learn why bowling is a great extracurricular activity for kids, and how you can get your child involved with youth bowling right here at your hometown bowling alley.

Bowling for Kids and Teens

Your kids will almost certainly go to a bowling birthday party or cosmic bowling event at some point, but parties and hangouts aren’t the only reasons to head to the bowling alley. We also host a youth bowling league that can get your kids more into the sport.

Why Should My Kids Try Bowling?

Bowling is one of the fastest-growing high school sports in the U.S. The sport also gives out over 3 million dollars every year in scholarship money to graduating high school seniors! Many bowling scholarships are based on participation, not just skill, which means that any kid has the opportunity to earn a bowling scholarship.

Aside from the scholarship potential, bowling is an awesome lifelong sport that most people can continue to play well into their senior years. It hones hand-eye coordination, encourages discipline and practice, and teaches focus. Counting pins and adding up the score is good math practice for younger kids, while older kids get to put their physics and geometry knowledge to the test by accounting for lane conditions and judging the angles of their shots.
